Meet My Blogroll.

Starting your own blog is like moving into a big city. First, you’re all on your own to explore – nervous and exited, you explore but quickly find that many of these new things will be no fun to explore on your own. You strike up a chat with a stranger who just so happens to be interested in the obscure thing you’re doing. Soon enough, you are invited into their world, and start branching out into a world of your own. This blog was my New York, my bar was Twitter, and my Blogroll is comprised of wonderful folks with wonderful experiences that I would have never discovered otherwise. I’d like to introduce you to some of my favorite blogs and twitter-ers,  who are all 100% real and 100% awesome.

101 Things to Do Before You Die

Jessica of 101 Things to Do Before You Die is a die-hard go-do’er, do-gooder and one of the most accomplished life listers out there. Her ideas stimulate the minds of all of her frequent readers – and no, I’m not just talking about her accomplishing her Thing to Do #18: Study the Kama Sutra and Put Theory into Practice. Follow her and learn about the 100 other things she plans to do before she dies. I especially loved her Thing to Do #88: Get Married Unusually – an item that requires much dedication and support, and is especially cute. She also writes some really inspiring motivational pieces and has an amazing presence. Definitely worth the read!

Ask Alex Vee – The Beauty Blog

Alex Vee is my best friend (moniker Rex). Alex Vee is my personal stylist. Alex Vee is my makeup artist. Alex Vee is a licensed esthetician who loves all things related to beauty and well-being. Follow her and learn with her on her journey into the beauty industry, and pick up some inside tips on how to look, and feel, your best. Miss Vee  is new to the blogging world, and I think with time, you’ll all get to know and love her!

Bbetter.me

This is a great blog written by a great guy. This blog is written to help you become better, to inspire each and every one of to live life to our maximum potential. Phil regularly posts blogs and vlogs based on two simple words that are bound to get you thinking. Oh, and he has a bucket list, too! I’d also suggest following him on Twitter – @PhilEchols – because he’s always got a kind word for everyone and is never too busy to say HELLO!

BeforeIam35

Tobias is my third favorite thing to ever come out of Sweden – right behind Ikea and pizzakebab, which he of course introduced me to. His blog features a Bucket List that share a lot of items with mine, as well as about 375 more fantastic ideas. Oh, and he also posts some pretty fun music on Music Monday. His travel pieces are inspiring – his love of the Phillipines is unrequited and I especially enjoyed this post on the history of the country. You should follow him on Twitter – @beforeIam35 – and help him achieve his goal of getting 5,000 followers.

Get Busy Livin’

Justin’s blog is one of my newest finds and an instant addition to my favorites. Justin’s optimistic outlook and daily posts are uber-enjoyable and his encouraged spontaneity is incredibly refreshing to anyone stuck in a boring routine. He’s got a sense of humor and a great attitude towards life – follow @justinhamlin on Twitter to see just how friendly and fantastic he is. I especially like his post on Embracing Spontaneity, a must-read for all of you out there who have a tough time diverting from the plan. Essentially, that is what this blog is about – getting busy living. So get busy reading!

Mark’s Big Gay Blog

Oh, Mark. First of all, let me introduce you to a comedically epic book called ‘Blackouts & Breakdowns’, which you can buy off his website. Ever read a book and wonder where it left off? Now you don’t have to, with Mark’s Big Gay Blog. He mixes the perfect amount of humor and reality; his life is a mix of every girl’s favorite gay friend and Sex & the City – though that may just be the New York glamor this blog showcases.  Admittedly, I have not yet read the book (don’t shoot me!) but it’s most certainly on the list. Make friends with him on Twitter before someone signs him on his own TV show and he stops reading fan tweets! – @MarkBRosenberg.

Veni. Vidi. Vici.

Elle has been my guiding light throughout my blogging experience. She found me early and took me under her wing, like a maternal chicken, and continues to inspire me through her experiences. Elle lives, sleeps and breathes bucket list. Want to meet someone who has drank margaritas in Mexico? Met Hanson, that 90′s band (and her future husbands)? Played Santa Claus?  Shaken hands with a President? Elle’s your girl. Here are 6 posts to get you started, though I promise if you start reading her blog you won’t be stopping anytime soon. Follow her on Twitter, too, for your daily dose of spunky attitude and travelphilia.
